Woahhh! Parineeti Chopra to star in Karan Johar’s sensuous love story?
After Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Karan Johar to direct a sensuous love story featuring Parineeti Chopra…
Karan Johar impressed one and all after returning to direction after nearly a 5 year hiatus. Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachahan’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was one of the most loved films of 2016 and it totally made Diwali special for everyone around. However, after turning father to twins – Yash and Roohi, there were reports that the filmmaker will once again take a long break from direction. But looks like these reports were false! In fact, Karan Johar is all set to direct a sensuous love story and he has even found his main leads. Yes, according to Mumbai Mirror, Parineeti Chopra has bagged this film which tells the tale of a woman longing for a lover. A big shot TV star is going to star opposite her. Isn’t that cool? But wait there’s some more dope!
The same report in the tabloid reveals to us that Karan Johar’s film is just a 30-minute part for Ashi Dua and Ronnie Screwvala’s anthology of four short films. The theme of all four films is about love and lust. Four years ago, Karan had helmed a short film for Ashi’s debut production, Bombay Talkies. It had featured four short films directed by Karan, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee. The same four directors collectively met in January to finalise the second project and their short films. Zoya and Dibakar have already shot for their film, while Anurag and Karan Johar’s film will go on the floors soon. Zoya’s part stars Bhumi Pednekar and Neil Bhoopalam as a couple with Rasika Dugal as their domestic help, while Manisha Koirala will play an older woman revisiting her love life in Dibaker’s short film. Anurag’s part, on the other hand, features Radhika Apte playing a young woman who deals with several day-to-day issues in her relationships.
Ashi even confirmed this report, when she mentioned to Mumbai Mirror, “All of them will be about different equations of love and lust. I can’t say which short I love the most since they are all my babies but it is great to enjoy the film in totality -like I Love New York or Paris Je’taime, where you enjoy some moments a lot more but you take home the film as a whole. That’s the idea here as well.”
