Varun Dhawan Replaces Salman Khan Once Again?
Just a few months ago, Salman Khan opted out of a dance film, which was to be helmed by Remo D’Souza. No matter how many chartbusters Salman has delivered, the actor’s detractors have always felt that Bhai was born with two left feet. The story of the film, tentatively titled Dancing Dad, was about a single dad with two left feet, who will have to learn dancing for his nine-year-old daughter, to join her on the floor during a dance competition. The actor was reluctant to play the part from the start because he felt that he won’t be able to do justice to the role and also that he is too old for the part.
While there were also reports that suggested Remo tried hard to convince the Dabangg actor, but he remained unsure and felt young actors like Varun Dhawan, among others, would be more suitable for the role. Reportedly, Remo too had lost interest in the film and shelved it. But guess what Remo has found his lead actor for the film. Yes, you heard it right. According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, the director will kickstart the project with none other than Varun Dhawan, who proved his dancing mettle in ABCD 2.
A source, in a statement to the website, said, “Varun happily agreed when Remo approached the Badlapur actor. They have collaborated very successfully on Any Body Can Dance. After the socially relevant October with Shoojit Sircar, another dance film seems just the thing Varun needs to do.”
However, Remo’s upcoming film is not the third installment of the ABCD franchise. the source further told the online portal, “This film has nothing to do with the ABCD franchise. Remo designed it for Salman. But Salman was reluctant from the start and had even recommended Varun for the role.”
On the work front, Varun Dhawan, who has wrapped up the Delhi schedule of his upcoming film October. Also, when Varun had visited the sets of Super Dancer 2 as a guest, Remo had announced that Varun will be his leading man for the third installment of the ABCD franchise.
