Akshay Kumar‘s next film after Gold, on the battle Of Saragarhi, titled Kesari which will be a collaboration with Karan Johar. Though Akshay was finalised, there remained speculation over the leading lady of the film. Names of the likes of Katrina Kaif popped up, however, we finally have one name finalised, which is Parineeti Chopra.

Talking about her role in the film, a source tells DNA, “Although the film is about the battle, Pari plays an important role. She will be seen as Akshay’s wife.” Earlier, Parineeti was told to have given her nod to the film. A source told the tabloid, “Parineeti plays a strong character and has really liked the script. The makers have started prep. Huge sets of the Saragarhi and Gulistan forts, as well as a village, will be erected in Wai, a town in Satara district.”

“The actors will be provided with a lot of material for their parts and will start full-time prep close to the shooting date. The film is set to tentatively go on the floors in January next year,” the source added. Currently, Parineeti remains busy with the shooting of her film Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar opposite Arjun Kapoor. She is also signed up for another one opposite Arjun in the sequel of Namaste London, titled tentatively titled Namaste Canada. The film will go on floors early next year and will release some time in 2019.
