Unlike many of her Bollywood colleagues, Kangana Ranaut is not extending support to Padmavati and its lead actor Deepika Padukone.

Kangana Ranaut has a reputation in Bollywood for being vocal about her opinions, at the risk of getting embroiled in several controversies. But this time around, in the middle of the volatile Padmavati row, unlike many of her Bollywood colleagues, Kangana has decided to maintain silence. She is not extending support to the film.

Padmavati is in the middle of a witch’s brew, and Rajput groups like the Shri Rajput Karni Sena are adamant that the film shouldn’t release. Not just this, they also issued death threats to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika.The makers of Padmavati decided to take a petition for safety of the cast of Padmavati by getting it signed by the film fraternity. Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma have been approached for it.

However, when Kangana was approached, she flatly refused to do it, says a report in Mid-day.

There are a few possible reasons why Kangana does not wish to support Deepika. For starters, Deepika’s name was mentioned in the leaked email controversy with Hrithik Roshan, and secondly, there weren’t many from the Bollywood industry who stood with Kangana during her battle with Hrithik.
