Vegam (Eng: Speed) is a Malayalam thriller film of 2014 Directed by KG Anil Kumar. He himself produced it under the banner of FX4 Movie Makers. The music is done by govinda Menon. The film stars veteran Pratap Potten, Vineet Kumar. Jacob Gregory, Samskruthy Shenoy etc in lead roles. Vegam reveals the story of two youngsters who tried many short cuts to reach the target of a happy, romantic , wealthy and joyful life. Siddharth and David were two friends and they both have small jobs to earn their daily bread. But as time passed their needs increased and they find it difficult to live lavishly with the money they get now. Moreover Siddhu had fallen in love with a charming girl and the burden to haulage his expense was a serious problem for him. For making money they made some underworld relation with out thinking the consequences. But when they realized that they were in trap, it was too late to save themselves from there. Another stealing crime also falls on their shoulder, and the sitation became more complex. Can they over come danger and return to normal life? Will Meere (Siddhu's love) realize his love and return towards him? The story progresses with an unexpected climax which may satisfy your anxiety about the friends and their future. The film received negative reviews more and falls flat at boxoffice. There was nothing new in this film and everything was predictable before its happenings. In other words it is mixture of many films and the similarity and repetition is boring. The only plus point to be noted is the interodution of new faces, disregarding the present stars and inclusion of pratap pothan. Though it is a repetition story, for a long time no one was touching this field and in that sense it is an innovative attempt to fill the gap of thriller movies.
