Valiyavan

Vliyavan is a Tamil action movie of 2015 written and directed by M. Saravanan. The producer of the film is K Sampath and make it released on 27 march. It features Jai and Andrea Jeremiah in lead roles.

Vinod (Jai) is a handsome youth doing nothing special than works as an employee in a private institution. He was actually a man of self confidence and once a beautiful lady came from somewhere obstructed his way and opened her heart before him and Said “ I Love You” to him and disapperared. He took it as a joke and ignored it. But his inner self didn’t allow him to hide his desire to meet her again and express his wish to return his love. For sometime they missed each other while searching for one another and finally when they meet she rejected his proposal on some misunderstood grounds. He understood that the name of the lady was subiksha (Andrea Jeremiah) but again the reason behind her pursue was unknown to him. But he was not ready to forsake the lady who opened his heart and sowed the seeds of love. But at last she agreed to return his love, but only with satisfying some conditions. When he heard her condition, he actually shocked and shuddered. But he was not ready to loose her. The condition she put foreward to obtain her love was to defeat an Olympic boxer in a match. As the audience the hero also stood stunned before this reveal and Why she demanded such an unusual demand was unknown to him. For best answers whether he could win the match to win her heart, you are requested to watch the film in a theatre.

The film received mixed cum negative reviews more and was not a success at the box office. The too much suspense of the film itself mainly served as the major reson of its failure and it dragged the audience to the end through flash backs to reveal the truth, which was boring. The story itself failed to convince the plot and some unrealistic cinematic situations are artificially created to move the story upward. The slow and unenergetic  dialogues of the hero, really made it boring and  unattractive. The only plus point to indicate is the the performance of Andrea Jeremiah. She was actually super in her role and at some scenes surpassed the expectations of the audience. In the action scenes Jai also performed well and the love scenes between the two seems quite amicable. However to conclude, such a work from the director of ‘Engeayum Eppothum’ was really unexpected and such films will help only to shrink his popularity as a fabulous director. To quote Sify : “Valiyavan is a mixed bag. The first half is terrible with no story, and it is the last 30 minutes which has some meat in it. The script and presentation is a big letdown”.
