Thottal Thodarum
Tottal Thodarum is a Tamil romantic thriller film of 2015. The famous film critic and writer, Cable Sanker has done writing and direction of the film. The film features Thaman Kumar and Arundhati in lead roles with Vincent Asokan in supporting role. Thottal Thodarum is a love story between two persons from two corners of life. They met accidently and daily intimacy through phone made them ardent lovers eachother. Thaman is a HR professional and Arudhati is a staff in a call centre. Both of them come together in an accident site involved by a minister. From there the story of their love begins and by chatting each other they become friends and later, as usual lovers. They continued their trifle lovely talk through phone and once Arudhati was followed by a mysterious group of persons and tried to kill her by adapting a new killing technique called Orchestrated accident. Knowing this the hero came forward vigorously defending and protecting. But they were very strong to trap both of them. Could they succeed in overcoming the threats of those people? What are aims of the new group of moral policing? For an anti-climax you just watch the film in theater. The film received many negative reviews and was not a hit at the box office. The director, who was a famous critic and writer proved himself that directing a film is not an easy task as criticizing it. We are anxious about the criticizing note of Cable Sanker about his own film. The film actually failed to connect the numerous charaters logically and some characters come and go in this film without making any effect on the story. The story is blurred in the second half and can be considered as a disaster, otherwise it would have been a beautiful film. The humour generated in the film, though outdated make some responses because of its presentation and performance by Vincent Asokan. Regarding actors Taman is consistant while Arundhati is having different character at different times and the director failed to explain the reason behind this sudden change. The smartness and staring eyes of the heroine or the adventurous actions of the hero couldn't save the film from its predestined failure.
