The Shaukeens is a Hindi comedy film directed by Abhishek Sharma. Ashvin and Akshay kumar jointly produced the film. The film features Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Annu kapoor and Piyush Mishra in main roles. It is only a remake of the 1982 Hindi film ‘Shaukeen’ directed by Basu Chatterjee.

The Shaukeens narrates the story of three old ‘gentlemen’ who visits mauritius for a vacation. Though the three are obedient servents of their misses at home they reveal thier true nature during the vacation. They want to enjoy life more and more with some delicate wishes which they couldnot fulfill while they were in India. They rented a bunglow of the very sweet young Ahaana and three of them fond her very much. Once when they were in Mauritius Akshay kumar visited this place and they took that chance to conquer the hart of sweet young Ahaana. To their surprise Ahaana was a hardcore fan of Akshay kumar and were ready to do anything to meet him. The film progresses with their plan to meet Akshay kumar and make him use his influence on Ahaana, in a way to their direction.

The only positive thing to mention in this film is the performance of Akshay kumar. None other than him contributed much to it.It received negative reviews more than positive. No Characters in this film are expected by the audience to perform such unfunny moronic things. Even Akshay Kumar himself is imitating his other film scenes and nothing innovative in it. It is only a third – rate film which is not worth the rate. Honestly speaking, the film fails because it has no plot and script writing is unpersuasive. More over In a desperate attempt to make the audience happy the very outdated, comic scenes are used every now and then.
