The Royal Bengal Tiger is a Bengali action film directed by Rajesh Ganguly . Neeraj Pandey produced the film. Abir Chatterjee,Priyanka Sarkar, Shadha Das are in the lead roles and Jeet comes in an extended special appearance. It is the story of a man who is very ordinary and how his life changes when he becomes extraordinary. Abhi is a common man working in an office. He lives with his wife and son. Though he is a hardworking person some jealous people in his office do everything to prevent his promotion and they kept away some of his important files. He is not able to react to anything and even his tenant refuses to pay rent to him. Again his wife were molested by some goons in metro station, he could only hear her cries and was not able to do anything. After that the turning point of the film comes. There he meet an old friend (Jeet) and hearing his story he gave him courage and convinced him that if he does not react at this time he would spoil his life. The rest of the story tells about a new Abhi. At last Abhi became a Psychiatric patient of split personality disorder because of depression desease. The film was a commercial success and it got a positive review. Abhir Chatterjee as Abhi has shown a super performance of a life time in this film. In the first half his childlike innocence, inherent politeness, the helpnesness and in the second half after transformation , the barely contained rage and new -found confidence- he portrayed them aptly. But the film failed to coordinate the story well and it is predictable from the word go. The sudden change of Abhi from a coward to hero is something incredible. But in spite of all these defects it is a watchable one.
