Sandamarutham

Sandamarutham is a 2015 Tamil family/thriller film written and directed by A Venkatesh. Radhika Sarathkumar is the producer of the film. The film started its works in may 2014 but has taken more than 10 months for release. The film stars Sarath kumar (duel role), Oviya, Meera Nandan and Samuthirakani and Arun Sagar. Many supporting actors also appears in the film. Sandamarutham is a family as well as gangster story acted by Sarath Kumar in duel role. The story deals with an undercovered cop who tries his best to thwart the plans of an unrepentant criminal, who deals with terrorists to demolish our home land. Sarveswaran (Sarath kumar) is a dread criminal who does any thing for money. He was from a poor family, where his mother worked hard to feed him. Though a handicapped she did everything to make him happy. But in an unfortunate event he lost his mother and the cause of her death was a principal. He started his criminal career by killing the principal and he vowed to be rich enough by any means to take revenge upon the world who killed his mother. All are very afraid of him and even his men are not ready to approach him directly. On the other hand Surya (which is also Srath Kumar) is an undercovered cop, who lives with his joint family happily. He loves his family very much and he has a love affair also. Maha (Meera nandan) is his future would be and he was a loving finacee to her always. The government appoints Thirumalai (Samuthirakani) as the new police Inspector to couteract the criminal and Thirumalai was an efficient officer. But Sarveswaran proves too good for Thirumalai and he was killed by the hardcore criminal and continued his challenges against the society. It was almost clear that he was having tieups with Chinese terrorists and he himself developed a highly potent chemical that can cause destruction on a vast scale. He was selling these explosives to terrorist for money and was acquiring a huge amount for planning further destruction. At last the true hero is coming to conquer him. He also underestimated his capabilities and he had to suffer a lot for that. But the twist of the story starts from there and for a winning and thrilling end you watch the film. It provides a banquet to your eyes and the two Sarath Kumars on the same screen is the major attraction of this film. The film received positive as well as negative reviews from the critics. The sacrifices of the hero to save his mother land is the highlight of the film. The film succeeded in framing this emotions verywell and luminosity the love of the mother land in the minds of every one who watch the film. Sarath Kumar in his dual role acted fantasticly and which one (Sarveswaran or Surya) performed well is a tight spot question. But for other critics it is only an old wine in the new bottle and there is nothing innovative in it. This is actually a repeated subject and in all such film there will be a villaian and a hero to crush him. Some times, expecially during fight scenes the same action is repeated which is moronic in nature. It is actually a one man show pro and against is only one person Sarath kumar and he himself is present in all the scenes. Some recent releases on this subject faded its beauty and otherwise it would have been a good venture. Even then it is a good film to watch for a patriotic person who love his mother land.
