Roy
Roy is a 2015 Hindi romantic thriller film directed by Debutant Vikramjit Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar and 4 more under Freeway Pictures. The movie features Arjun Rampal, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles with Rajit Kapur, Shernaz Patel, Shibani Dandeker and Anupam kher (Cameo role) in supporting roles. The story cosists of three stories parallel to each other and at the end fusion together in an interesting way with an unexpected twist. The main story deals with the story of a mysterious theif and his theft, robbery and love affairs. Kabir Garewal (Arjun Rampal) is a famous filmmaker. Most of his films are based on the life and robberies of a thief. All his films have been highly successful. In order to shoot the third part of the film he goes to Malaysia. In Malaysia he met another London based lady director Ayesha (Jacqueline Fernandez), who instantly grabed his heart. Both fall in love soon. But later parted because of his Casanovian behavior. Desperated Kabir returns to Mumbai without completing his project. They met once again in afilm festival but ayesh's response was cruel and that hurt kabir. In a parallel story Roy (Ranbir Kapoor) the robber got a new assignment to steal an expensive painting from a foreign land (country not revealed). The owner of the painting is a beautiful lady Tia (Jacqueline-double role) who lives alone in a huge mansion. But crooked Roy tried to befriend Tia at an art auction and soon impressed her with his charm and words. Anyway Roy succeeded in stealing the painting and later returned it to her with regret. They both realized that they two love eachother deeply and forgiven his mistake. Meanwhile Kabir released his film with much difficulty and it was a huge success. Will this change the mind of Ayesha? Is there any relation with Roy and Tia in this story with the life of kabir? What is the twist that unite them together? The rest of the story reveals all the answers. The film received mixed reviews more and was not received whloheartedly by the audience. It faced competiton from MSG and Worlcup. The performance of Rabir kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez was highly appreciated. The chemistry between them worked very well. The film crew succeeded in displaying the beauty of Malaysia in a fantastic manner and one who watch the film will surely have an aspiration to go there. The love scenes of Jacqueline with the heros is something morethan words can express and beautifully shot. But the story seems to content some unrealistic element and it weaken the narration. According to this film Ladies are always waiting for someone to fall in love and with out hesitation falls in love within no time!. I conclude the review with a quote of Firstost: 'a slog to sit through with too many unnecessary songs and diversions and not enough meat to either thrill or entertain'.
