Rani Padmini is a 2015 adventurous road show film released in Malayalam. Aashiq Abu is the director, while PM Harris produced in association with VS Muhammed Althaf and Mohammed Kassim. They produced the film for Fort Entertainment Company. The film features  Manju Warrier and Rima Kallingal in lead roles. Sana Althaf, Shine Tom Chako, Sajitha Madathil, Jinu Joseph and some new faces also appears in supporting roles.

Rani Padmini is road trip type movie with bigger than life depiction of characters intermingled with feminism. The film tells the story of two women, meet together accidently and their illustrious journey together challenging the opponents in a stylish way and exposing the power of woman in the society. Padmini (Manju Warrier)  is a house wife living in Kochi. Later moved to south India with her car ralliest husband. She loves her husband very much but she does get him nearby always. Giri (Jinu Joseph) is a professional car rallyist and set aside  his life for that prefession. Most of the time he will be out the house and once Padmini wanted to go to to Manali, Himachal Pradesh, to meet him. As she was travelling towards his husband, another lady who was runnig to save her life from a rowdy came infront of her. They introduced each other and became friends. Her name was Rani (Rima Kallingal) and she was a North-Indian by birth and she makes some trouble wherever she goes. It is the same character makes more troubles for them and moves the story foreward.

The film received mixed reviews from critics. But it was a family entertainer film and with out a lead male role the director succeeded to make it a hit. The film portrays the scenic beauty of Himalayas for the audience and the introduction of Himalayan car ralley chronicle is an interesting and exciting event and the gang followers and some journalists add severeness and needed twist to the story. It is exciting  but fails to give any suspense. Some unnecessary situations were created to make comedy  but the effect is otherwise.  But the performance wise review of the actors put Manju and Rima to the top of the frame and they two were actually convulsed the viewers with their amazing concert.
