Rana Vikrama is a high voltage action Kannada film of 2015 direced by pavan Wadeyar. He directed the film under the Jayana bhogendra’s production banner Jayanna Combines. The film stars super star Puneeth Rajkumar (duel role) with Anjali and Adah Sharma in the lead roles. Girish Karnard also performs an important role in this film.

The story is about a mysterious place named ‘Vikrama Teertha’ which lies in the boarder of Karnataka and Maharashtra. The story is strongly related with land mafia and their national and international relations. Once a news reporter finds missing in this area. He came there to report about the illegal activities that took place in that area. But the place was more dangerous than he imagined and no one could see him thereafter. So, the so called place which was not in the record book of either state awoke curiosity and alarm amoung the locals and The home minister (Girish Karnad) appoints Vikram (Puneet Rajkumar), an aspirant police officer to investigate the case. Vikram reaches there and finds the place is very familiar to him. He finds some relation with that place in his earlier birth and during the British rule he dad fight against the British Raj. He understood that he has to fight with some local goons this time who are very strong and supported by some powerful political leaders. The place is rich in Uranium and the eyes of the goons are on its high value. They are planning to export it to foreign coutries. They find a new enemy in vikram and started the game play to perish him. The war between the good versus evil starts from here and who will be the final winner is the climax of the story. There are some interesting twists in the story which makes it exciting to watch.

Upon release the film received positive reviews from critics and the film gained popularity as an action-thriller-family-entertainer. It is a naughty-free action film with out any over dosage of songs. This deals with a rare subject story with lots of action told with a bit of emotional moments. The director has used the abilities of Punneth Rajkumar in a use ful manner and very apt to the film circumstances. He carries the movie on his shoulders and gives a splendid treat for the viewers. This film once again increased the star value of the hero and with their unimportant but crucial roles the heroines also performed their part well. Another noteworthy  actor is Girish karnad. With his appearance he added splendor to the movie and sometimes he acts competitively with Puneeth. Songs and cinematography are also praised. But the film sometimes fall short in the action scenes and similarity with many films feel at the middle. But a film with out some defects are not possible and the dialogue delivery and thrilling action performance of the hero overshadow the defects. It is top in the list of must watch movie this year.
