Pisasu
Pisasu (eng: Devil) is supernatural drama tamil film produced by Bala. The film was written and directed by Mysskin. The main actors of the film are Naga and Prayaga martin alongside Radharavi and Harish Uttaman.
The story tells some unbelievable things happening in the life of sidharth a violinist. Once while driving he saw an accident in which a girl (Prayaga) laying in a pool of blood. At once he took her to nearby hospital with the help of an autodriver. But they couldn’t save her life and she died after sometime. Before death she had hold on his hand firmly but he couldn’t understand why she hold his hand so firmly. Sidharth was very disappointed and he lost his aim in life and wandered everywhere thinking of her. When he returned to his flat some strange things happened there also. Everyone in the flat felt the presence of some supernatural powers and brought a magician to exorcise the ghost. But the ghost threatened him and he run away. Later he understood that the ghost with him is not to harm but saves him from many problems. Once it saved his mother, guard flat from robbery etc… He, with anxiety searched out the background of the girl killed in the accident. His finding were quite normal but the scene that he couldn’t open was something interesting. What was the real problem with her? Whether was the devil wanted to love or kill him? Can he succeed in his attempt to save her soul? The electrifying part of the movie answers all these questions.
This film received many positive reviews and though many films have released on this subject before, the approach taken to the story by the director makes it different from the other films. It is the debut film of Naga but his performance was commenndable and well as an experienced one in this field. Among the horror films it stands alone with a ‘friendly ghost’ and at last we feel piety of the ghost and pray for her soul because we also starts to love this ‘loving ghost’. But One question remain in our mind is whether can we see such ghosts in life! Don’t worry it is only a film and for that it is excusable.I wish to conclude the review with a quote from Rediff which gave 3.5 stars out of five and commended as follows: “Deliberately paced, with stunning music and an intriguing plot, Pisaasu is a typical, thought-provoking Mysskin film that deserves much applause. The Taut screenplay, simple dialogues, excellent characterization and admirable performance coupled with perfect excecution make it a must watch”.
