Picket 43 is a Malayalam sentimental war and friendship film of 2015 . This film is directed by the famous director of war films Major Ravi. OS sunil is the producer and Ratheesh Vegha did the music. The film features Prithviraj and javed jaffrey in lead roles. This film is entirely different from other films of major Ravi and it concentrate more on the psychological trauma a soldier has to go through in order to safe his mother land. It also tells an extraordinary friendly relationship with the soldier of our neibouring country pakisthan. Havildar Harindran Nair (Prithviraj) is an Indian soldier guarding an Indian picket in Kashmir. He reluctantly accepted the offer, for it was a dangerous picket and all three predecessors of him were shot dead by infiltrators from Pakistan. A letter from his mother asking him to return to home to marry his lady love were rejected by his senior officer. So when he reached at the picket he was alone and he felt so sorry thinking of his mother and lover. But the situation changed soon when he got an unexpected friend from his 'enemy' country and within no time they become close friends. They even forgot their respective coutries and lived in their own world. They had to face many hardships to maintain their friend ship. They told everything of their personal pleasure and grief and through them they know more about each others country. They understood that the common people of each country does not hate each other and the anti-social elements in the country are making problems in each country. Some states in Pakistan are ruled by Taliban and they were denying admission to girls to some schools. Taliban also promotes terrorism in these states and recruits youngsters for using as suicide bombs. The life of the rural people in Pakistan is drawn clearly in this film. Besides this pakitsani friend, Harindran had another friend, a dog, to whom he shares his sorrows and solitude. But even if he is a friend of Mushreff, an infiltration to India was insufferable to him and at one time he himself encountered and killed a group of infiltrators to India. The film received highly positive reviews from some critics but others were reluctant and has gave some mixed reviews only. The outstanding performance of Prithviraj is the main plus point of the film alog with the variety story. Most part of the film is shoot in Kashmir and the snow covering mountains and landscape has fully covered beautifully by the cinematographer.But as a whole it was regarded as a good film and despite its short comoings it is considered as a good attempt by Major Ravi in revealing the psychological trauma of a soldier and the hardships he suffers to guard his mother land.
