The story begins with the character of a poor farmer Natha i.e. Omkar Das Manikpuri and his brother Budhia i.e. Raghubir Yadav of a village named Peepli in Mukhya Pradesh. Due to having debt of a government loan and both of them are unable to pay it. This results in getting the land been auctioned. Then the minister of Peeli village informed Natha and his brother Budhia are about government policy that provides aid to the family members of those farmers who have committed suicide. After having a strong squabble between the brothers, Natha decided that he will end his life through getting burnt. Did Natha commits suicide and whether his family gets the benefit out from the government policy forms the rest of the story. The ominous issue regarding farmers suicide has been fiercely carried out in the movie. The movie is entertaining as well as heartbreaking. The film also shows how hungry are the Medias for getting news in order to win the competition from their competition irrespective to the feelings of the farmers and other common people. But the movie was slow at times. The climax exposes the partition of the rural and urban areas. The director has come up with a bitter reality of the condition of Indian farmers. The Song
