Oru Vadakkan Selfie
Oru Vadakan Selfie (Eng: A northern Selfie) is a Malayalam comedy thriller cum road movie of 2015. G Prajith is the director and Vinod shornor is the producer of this movie. Vinod sreenivasan, the script writer and Shaan Rahman is the composor. The film features the new sensational youth actor Navin Pauly with Manjima Mohan in lead roles. Aju Varghese, Neeraj Madhav and Vineeth Sreenivasan in supporting roles. Umesh (Nivin Pauly) is a cheerful engineering student, who is very lazy at studies and would need to submit 42 supplimentry papers to get the degree passed. But he is not at all bothering about it. He is enjoying life with his two friends Shaji (Aju Varghese) and Thankaprasad (Neeraj Madhav). As they were short of money for their needs they decided to go to chennai to try his hands in movies. He had heard that by producing a film one can become very rich in a short span of time. Their idea was to meet renowned director Goutham Menon and the famous actor Ajith to cast them for their film. There was a girl living nearby his house and her name is Daisy. He had a lust for her in his mind and as a surprise he found her in his train going to Chennai. They had also taken some selfies along the way to Chennai. But the real problem starts in his life after the journey to Chennai. He found himself at the center of a big controversy. They left the plan of making a short story based on a copy of Korean movie but it was too late for them to mend it . They met another guy, Jack Tracker ( Vineeth Sreenivasan) introduced himself as a private dictective. He promised to help them from the mess they are in now. What was the problem alerted them? Can the astuteness of Jack save them from the mess? Will Daisy really love him or are their selfies become a 'para' to them? The rest of the movie unfolds all the answers to your questions and I strongly suggest to see this beautiful movie. The film received positive reviews more from critics and audience. This the first commercial successful in Malayalam in 2015. The three trios (UST) actually conquered the minds of their admirers with this 'Selfie'. Though there is nothing special in this film to point out, it was a commercial success. The crdit goes to the director and script writer. The cinematography of the film is also deserve a positive comment. Manjima Mohan, though has to do nothing with the plot played well her part and contributed much to its grand success. The comedy of Aju Varghese were enjoyed by the audience and we got a descendant of Jagathy sreekumar in Aju Varghese after Sooraj. I conclude with a quote from Times of India : ' Worth a watch for the performance of its vibrant cast and many moments of wit they pull off effortlessly'.
