Naa Bangaaru Talli

Naa Bangaaru Talli is a Telugu social problem film released world wide with social funding. Though produced in Telegu it was dubbed to other languages Including English as well. It was the pioneer using social funds for making a film. Rajesh Torchriver directed the film and M S Rajesh and Dr. Sunitha Krishnan, who internationaly known crusaders of anti trafflicking, were the co-producers. The film features Siddique and Anjali patil in main roles.

The story of the film is based on a true event. It deals with and takes us to the deepest unknown part of human relationship, consequences of sex trafflicking and the helplessness of a poor girl who was once a pet of her ‘father’. Srinivas (Siddiq) is a loving father and lives with his wife and daughter in a small town. He was a wonderful father to Durga (Anjali Patil) and was ready to provide the best to her. He used to visit Hyderabad as part of his business and the daughter and mother find nothing particular about it. But as time went on Durga passed school education with colors and she wanted to complete her higher stuies in Hyderabad. Hyderabad was a dream city for her and she was sure that her father will send her to Hyderabad as she wish. But contrary to her belief Srinivas strongly opposed her desire and asked her to go to any other city than this. But Durga arranged an admission secretly in a college at the heart of the city and went there to attend the interview. Unknowing this her father also reached the city regarding with his business purpose. As soon as she reached there she was kidnapped by some underworld goons and was brought to a brothel house. The twist of the story starts here and takes us to an unbelievable nature of human mind with dual personality or shakes the basic tenets of human existence ‘trust’. Durga’s life was brutally torn apart and the worst thing hurt her most is the reality she found that the man behind all these cruelties were her dearest one. Who was behind all this is a stunning question. Is it her loving father or her lover or some other person watch and find the answer yourself.

It is a social film which deals with many realities of life. ‘Trust’ is everything in common man’s life and now a days some are exploiting it intelligently. It is a message to every girl who goes abroad and how to protect themselves from such crisis. The crew of the film had done everything to make it a decent film on a grim and shocking subject devoid of vulgarity, nudity and violence. Anjali Pillai is the heart and soul of the film and the national awards for her performance justifies her selection to this film. The way she was brought out and the pain and agony she suffers in the film is outstanding. Siddique, though carried out many characterstic roles before, his performance in this film is dazzling. The only drawback of the film is that it lagged some of the emotions and hardships and feel unreliable and do not have much depth. I wish to conclude the review with a quote form 123 telugu.com which follows “On the whole, Na Bangaru Talli is a film straight from the heart. It opens your eyes and shows the harsh realities of life quite convincingly.” All those who want to see the film with a message and sensibility need to definitely give this film a shot.
