Medulla Oblongata is Malayalam comedy film directed by Sruresh K Nair. The producer of the film is S Madhan and music composing is done by Balagopal. Saiju Kurup, Arjun nandakumar, Rahul Madhav and Nandu are in lead roles of the film. The story of the film is developed on a Tamil super hit film ‘Naduvila Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’.                         Medulla Oblongata is the story of four friends Chandu, Appachen. Sitarayyer and Manikantan. The first two friends work together in a company. The other two are their childhood friend and neighbour. From childhood they used to gather in the evening and sometimes playing Cricket. The marriage of Nandu is fixed with Nidhi patel a Gujarati girl settled in Kerala. In the mean time once while playing Cricket a ball hit on his head and if affected his memory very much. He suffered a short term memory loss and he had forgotten the present and the happenings of about one years back. He can remember his college days but not his proposed bride!. Then there occurs many humorous and dramatic situations. Doctor advised his friends to be with him and entertain him so that he may recover normalcy at any time. The rest of the story reveals whether he will be cured or not.                   Though the film was a super hit in Tamilnadu, can’t repeat the same in Kerala. It may be because of the selection of characters, screenplay or direction. But it failed in boxoffice and can’t make an appeal among the critics. For some scenes it is absolutely Moronic and boring. Some juvenile actions of the hero pulls us back from the theatre. The only thing to noteworthy is the performance of Saiju, he is getting better with each film.
