Meaghamann

Meaghmann (Eng: Captain of the ship) is an action film of Tamil in 2014 directed by Magizh thirumeni. Hitesh Jabak is the producer of the film. The film features Arya, Hasika Motwani in leading roles. S. Thaman the famous musice director composed the music. Meaghmann deals actually with the story of underworld. Jothi, Sharma and Rane are three Gansters deals in drugs. They have their own areas of power in which they are the ‘kings’. They do any cruelty for their success and once one of them killed six persons who came on their way. Among these Jothi was so cruel and even his assistants were afraid of him. He was a headache for the state and police couldn’t findout him because he constantly changing his dwelling place. Siva, Chinna and Guru were assistants of Jothi and worked for him. Siva was actually a police officer disguised as an assistant to trap jothi and others. He steal drugs of Jothi and moved in to another place. Jothi become irritated and fired his men. Siva is palnning to accomplish his final game ie to trap all the guys together with a master plan. But the fate was different and except Sive his assistants were killed and he knew that his enemies were stronger than he calculated. But he was not ready to withdraw. He planned to trap them with another intelligent plan. Will he be win this time? Or will he lost more cops with him? The story develops to an unexpected climax. Most of the reviews on this film were positive and it is regarded as an action film in the real sense. It was aimed mainly on youths and elders, not on failmy viewers. It is an action film plotted nicely on the background of Goa. And the cinematography of the film is praise worthy. But the main drawback of the film is that it is an old story narrated by many and the director had nothing to do but go with the story of revenge and finally the enemy’s destruction completely. A certain amount of brutality is unavoidable in these films and it also follow the same path and make the audience on grip with such monster actions. I wish to wrap up this review with a Quote from Times of India: ” Meaghamann takes a while to pick up…But once we get the back ground info on varios gangs, cops and the moles on either side, we are drawn into the plot, which is intricately woven and manages to keep us on the edge of our seats”.
