Mariyam Mukku

Mariyam Mukku is a Malayalam comical romantic film, released in January 2015. James Albert. Who is a famous script writer tried his hand on direction for the first time. Earlier he wrote the script for the film 'classmates', which was a superhit at the boxoffice. The production side of the film is done by Ak Sebeer under Sam Big Movies. This film features Fahadh Faasil and Sena Althaf as leading characters and Manoj K Jayan and a few others as supporting actors. This is a beautiful action/love story film back grounding the sea and its surroundings as the plot for the story. It is a Christian bacgkground story related with faith and religion. Felix (Fahadh) is the only son of a fisherman, whose father died and he became an orphan at the age of ten. After that Mariyanasan (Manoj K Jayan) was everything for him and he took care of him. Mariyanasan was a fish vendor at Mariam Mukku and was a crooked man at heart. He sowed the seed of hatred and in his mind and taught him that st. Mary is the root cause for his sufferings. When Felix became a youth Mariyanasan used him as a weapon for his unscruplus ways and Felix as an obedient servant obeyed all his orders. Felix had a number of friends around him always and they were ready to sacrifice their life for him. The twist of the story starts with the arrival of Salomy (Sana) into the life of Felix. She, his old childhood friend changed his life altogether. His change in life affected Mariyanasan badly and Felix couldn't support his ways any further. The furring mayiyanasan tried his own way to eliminate Felix and hired a 'gunda'. By this time Felix captured his faith in Holy Mary and understood his actual role in society and stood for the common people. But at the end the unexpected happehd and could they over come it or not is an excited question that remains. I am not ready to reveal the climax and spoil your mood of anxiety and advice to break it by you youerself. All most all Malayalee viewers like stories based on the fisherman and sea. This film also received positively among the family audience. But the film couldn't make a position among the suprhits of Malayalam Industry. Though Fahadh Faasil tried his best to absorb the character, the repetition and similarity with other films hold back its success. But as a debutant James Albert did a good job and the songs and cinematography tries to give a classic look to the film. Among others the heroine, who plays an important role and Manoj K Jayan also deserves a sort of consideration. A much expected story were derailed in the second half and other wise It would have been another record breaking hit in Malayalam. Any way this film can be directly prescribed for family audience and for them there is everything to satisfy their needs.
