Manglish

Manglish is a Malayalam comedy film directed by Salam Bappu. Haneef Muhammed is the producer and The music by Gopi Sunder. Mega star Mommootty appears in this film as 'Maalik' and Tini Tom, Caroline Beck, Vnay Fort are in supporting roles. It is the story of Malik (Mammootty), a hero to Fort kochi. For them he is a man to be dreaded, revered loved. They call him 'Bhai' and for facing any problem of them he is in the forefront. As a businessman he lead an eventful life and his main income is coming from fishing. He is so influencial in society that he has conections with police officers, politicians and other influencial people in the society. Unexpectedly a lady comes into his life and there starts the twist and turn of the story. The lady is a foreigner and she was not familiar to kochi before. Bhai took care of her and he was not aware of the thunderstorm waiting for him behind. Many people used this situation to bow out but he has his own way to stand firm. This is an interesting story with an astonishing climax. Please watch the movie to quench the thirst of anxiety. Though come with a grand opening it pulled out of the theatre after some weeks and even Mammootty fans couldn't save the film. The critics gave mixed reviews and they were unanimous in one thing that it would have been a better film if the film crew had a little more concentration given to it. Mammootty and Caroline Beck perfomed competetively. The childish look and simplicity of beck attracted every one. Tini tom as a bystander creates many humorous scenes and the film is an entertainer in one way but failed to create romance between the lead actors. The viewers actually desired and Beck actually deserve a little more love from the megastar. But any way the experiment with a foreign lady as the heroine and Malayalam with a different slang didn't help Mammootty to make a hit.
