Manal Naharam is a 2015 Tamil Language feature film of 2015. The film is written and produced by MI Vasanthkumar and directed by veterian actor Shanker. It is actually a bi-lingual, film produced both in Malayalam and Tamil. The Malayalam version was released by the name 'Sand City' on January 2nd and Tamil on 27th February 2015. The film features Prajin Padmanabhan. Gautham Krishna, Thanishka, Varuna Shetty, VK, Jaise Jose and shanker himself. Manal Naharam tells the story of three migrant workers, their dreams, aspirations, sorrows and more over the obstructions they come across on the way of their travel of life. Mansur (Prajin), Anand (Gautham) and Business tycoon (Shanker) are all charaters of this story. The three represents three aspects life and their problems are closely related with reality. The film is packed with romance and their consequence and some real problems related with workers abroad. They have gone with a great dream to full fill and the burden of their nearest and dearestones in the home land is a big obstacle before them to take a decision whenever needed. The love affairs between Mansur and poornima (Tanishka) and Gautham and Varuna goes on the same path and faces obstacles which become controversial on fulfillment. In the middle it shows some relation of James (jaise) with flesh racket mafia and some ruthless and unfaithful action, which is a true case of treachery depicted in a stunning manner in this film. All these make the story of the film complicated and and unpredictable. The film received many positive reviews and in the flow of same genre films it stood separately with a story of migrants which we forgot to tell for a long time. It truelly portrayed the life of migrant people in the gulf countries and their struggles and aspirations. Some are brutally cheated by those who are boasting to be the wellwisheres of the migrants and ladies are the worst victims of such actions. The critics praised the direction, cinematography and especially the performance of the actors. VK, shanker, Prajin, Tanishka all performed well and contributed thier part for the success of the film. Sometimes Thanishka steals the show with her touching back-story, which touches every heart. In short the fantastic performance, super direction and perfect unusual climax make 'Manal Naharam' a gorgeous film to watch with out boring.
