khola hawa ia a romance/drama Bengali film directed by Anup Das . Dipak Nandy and his three friends Produced the film for White mix productions. The film casts Rituparna Gupta and Samadarshi dutta in the lead roles. Lalita Chatterjee, Saswati Guha Thakurata, pradip Chakraborty also play some important roles.

The plot of the film is a rare subject of regading the relationship between a middle aged house wife and a young guy. Life is short and it should not be spoiled by quarrelling and selfishness. Let us see whether it is true in the life of the following characters. Aditi and her husband are not in good trems. Thogh they had a son in their marriage, after marriage Aditi suffered a lot and her husband had another relation and the lady with him urged him to get divorced from Aditi. She had other intentions to fulfill. So he filed divorce notice against Aditi and unwillingly Aditi wanted to yield the pressure. Disappointed Aditi went to Darjeeling and there was no way before her but to suicide. At that particular moment a saviour came there in the form of Sayan, a script writer for television soaps. He was also very disappointed because of his girl friend. She dumped him and went for a rich man. They know each other and find some solace in each other and a friendship developed. They forgot their age difference and by the relation both find happiness and they returned to a joyful life. With in the company of Aditi Sayan could overcome his past disgraceful memories and from friendship their relation grown to a stage in which both could not separate each other. Aditi liked Sayan very much and was very happy in his presence. But when the subject was marriage she moved back a step and told him that she was much elder to sayan. But he was not at all bother about it and convinced her that these are very common in India (!) and she should not worry about it. Aditi also was happy. At the same movement the twist of the story comes. Aditi’s repentant husband searched her everywhere and when he met her in Darjeeling was very happy and confessed all his mistakes and offered her a happy life. She became in a dilemma. She couln’t forget Sayan, but her son’s memory were an obstruction to go with Sayan What will she decide? The climax is waiting for you. For that watch the film.

The film deals with a relevant subject that prevails in our society or is going to happen increasingly in our society. Family life is not so happy as in olden days for many couples. Some of them spoil happiness for their selfish desires and for that family and at last society suffers. The film is a strong insight into psychological dilemma about meaning of life and happiness. The film received many positive reviews and all praised the excellent performance of the leading actors. Music is compose by Neel Dutt in a fascinating way and brings viewers to another world forgetting their present. The main negative point noted by all is the sudden run out of the film from a smooth flow and it make a feel as if its engine has suddenly stopped for no reason. Though age difference is the backbone of this story there is no difference seen in the ages of Aditior Sayan in appearance and it is difficult to predict who is older than whom. I strongly recomend this film in the list of must watch.
