Khaad

Khaad is a Bengali adventure drama film released by the end of 2014. Faushik Ganguly is the director of the film while Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni have done the production. Indraadip Dasgupta is the music director and main stars appearing are Pallavi Chatterjee, Ardhendu Banerjee, Lily Charaborty and Rudrani Ghosh. Khaad or (Abyss-English) is an interesting story of a group of people who come together by an accident and the way make their lonely moments happy by practicing particular ‘game’. The story starts in a railway satation where the train become halt by unexpected strike by railway staffs. They knew that it may take time and they will be unable to rean their destination in time. So some of them planned for other solution and a priest joined with them arranged a bus for them to reach the nearest safe place. The bus started its journey and there were honeymooners (sahib and Mimi), Family vacationers (pallavi, koushik Banerji and Tridha), an ailing mother and her son, a heroine and her abnormal brother, one trekker, a bus conductor, a retired teacher and a priest. Though all were unrelated to each other a relation started among them and they all were happy that they get a bus to reach their destination. But the their destiny was written in a different way, on the way they met with a terrible accident. The bus fall off a cliff into an abyss but fortunately all the tourists survived with minor injuries. The palce was such that an escape from there to reach the road was very difficult and they decided to spend there during the night. All were frightened and looked each other for help. But they knew that all are in the same position and in order to spend their time the priest suggested a game. The game was to reveal everyones’ secret or anything that the person wants to confess to the world publicly but never gathered courage to tell it. But as the game started each one gets interested and between the travallers developed an unsusal relationship keeping aside the physical and religious disparities. All of them had an interesting past and they looked for a solution in this journey itself. The mother wanted her daughter to full fill her dream, the actress is guilty of ignoring her brother, the girl wanted her parents to accept her lover, and went on like this and the travelers find eachone confessing their past crimes or misdeeds and decideing to lead a better life. The rest of the film reveals the answers to the questions in your mind and they are : Could they reach their target in time? How all of them felt after revealing their story? Was there any relation between the story and a traveler among them? The film ‘Khadd’ resembles many of our life in one way or other and the producer touched our hearts with a sensible story. It is a genuine film which celebrates humanity in its true sense. All might have faced such a situation and for some there may not be any time to mend it or confess it and they lost their life in despire. The film conveys a good message that to go forward with a strong and clear mind it is important to accept the past and mend it. There are many occasions in the film which arise our conscience and open our eyes with reality. But for a criticism we review it negatively by saying that such an accident and cliff may not be realistic atleast concerned with this modern world. People can contact each other in many ways and that part of technological development is not considered important. But to concule my review I suggest to watch it because it is such a good one seldom comes our way.
