Jazbaa (Eng: Passion)  is a Bollywood thriller film of 2015 directed by Sanjay Gupta. Aiswarya Rai herself incorporated in the production of the film with Sanjay Gupta. Aiswarya Rai and Irrfan Khan appears in the lead roles and Shabana Azmi, Atul Kulkarni and Chandan Roy Snyal in supporting roles. Aiswarya  Rai Bachachan retuns after a log period to Bollywood. Because of her presence the movie made news in Bollywood and it was a much awaited film of this year.

This is the story of a Prominent criminal lawyer and her daughter. The story is filled with a lot of suspense and sentiments. Anuradha Verma (Aiswarya) is a famous criminal lawyer of the town and no one was able to defeat her in any case. She also posses the record of winning all the cases argued by her. She is living with her daughter Saranya (Sara Arjun), who is studying in a famous school in the town. One day Some Unscrupulous guys kidnapped her daughter in order to force her to argue a case for a Political and underworld tycoon Miyaaz Shaikh (Chabdan Roy Sanjay), who is convicted for a case of rape and murder of a young lady.  Anuradha who is a loving mother were in a great quandary and her emotional as well as   prefessional reputation hinder her to take a drastic decision. She took the help of a police officer who is very right but always a sore in the eyes of the authorities. Can she save her beloved daughter without sacrificing her principles or not contributes the rest of the film. Professoinal jealousy by some of her collegues add fuel and thrilling twist to the story.

The film was received positively by the critics and bolldwood as a whole. They celebrated the return of their old beauty star enthusiastically. Though it was a remake of a Korean film of 2007, Aiswarya surpassed all expectation and pictured a vehement performance on the screen. The dual aspects of her character, as mother and a lawyer were performed beautifully and were safe in her hands. But some parts of the film questions our intelligence and it even questions her prefession as a lawyer. Her over emotions at some situations make the audience feel bore. But even then the film acquired a good name and is running successfully at the box office. As Indian Express reviewd “jazbaa*s narrative has pace and power. Aiswarya is rusty at the start but eventually takes charge of the dual aspects of her character. Once in the Groove, her eyes breathe fire. Irrfan breezes past with clap-trap Kamlesh Pandey dialogues and Shabana is Flawless”.
