A R Rahman did composing for the 10th time in a Shsnker film. the film stars Vikram, Amy Jackson in lead roles with Suresh Gopi, Upen Patel, Santhanam and Ramkumar is minor but Pivotal roles. Most of the scenes in this film were completed in China and the rest in India. The film was Dubbed and released in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously with the Tamil version. The film tells the story of a body builder turned super model, who was brutally cheated by his enemies and became deformed, exacts revenge upon the respective people turned him into a hunchback. Diya works with John in her advertisements and because of his misbehavior left his partnership and induced Lingesan to join with her in her future endeavours. Lingesan though reluctant to forsake his desire of Mr. India, finally agreed to join with Diya in her advertisements. Osma jasmine made a stylish look to Lingesan and Diya by her fake act of love promoted him a lot and they two became a leading pair in modeling. As time goes on Diya started to love Lingesan deeply and they soon get engaged. In his expedition from a body builder to a top model, he made many enemies and John, Osma (once lingesan rejected her love), Indira Kumar-a wealthy industrialist and another body builder Ravi were the prominent. He became an old man within days. He consulted His friend Dr. Vasudevan (Suresh Gopi) and he also confirmed his illness and and said that it was an incurable desease. Knowing his helpless condition he asked Dr. Vasudevan to marry Diya and decided to hide himself from the public and created a fake accident to make others believe that he was killed in that accident. Vasudevan reluctantly agreed for the marriage and the marriage was fixed. On the eve of the wedding Lingesan knows that shocking truth about his disease. It was a natural one, but was deliberately created one and one of his close friend also incuded in that treachery. Who was that Brutus who cheated him? How could he escape from the disease? What is the response of Diya regarding his disease? There are many questions and the rest is the revengeful story of Lingesan. He was not alone in the battle and the story has a happy ending. The film received many positive reviews and is a superhit in Tamilnadu and other states. The story is an exceptional one and Vikram made it great by his performance. Vikram once again proved his talent on handling such an exceptional characters. The fantastic and marvelous performance of Vikram is the main positive part of the film. Director Shankar has done a praise worthy job and though it is not his best film he had proved his mettle and added a golden feather on his crown. Most part of the film were sereened in China and that provide a visual treat. The CG works applied in this film made it more beautiful and A R Rahman's contribution by composing the music and background score is especially good and praiseworthy attempt. The many unexpected twists of the story and brilliant performance Of Vikram made ait a grand success. Vikram has undergone many sacrifices to perform in this film, he became bald headed, and to feel better in look took practices to develop his body. But, Suresh Gopi has a brief yet extremely powerful role in the movie, which will satisfy his fans to the core. The main defect of the film is its length and its story part. The film has many similariy with some bollywood films and Arnold Schwarzengger is the role model of Vikram in this film. Some exaggerations in the film make it a little illogical but as a whole it is an entertainer. I wish to conclude it with a quote from Rediff : 'the narrative lacks the pace; we usually associate with a Shanker's film. But he does tell a beautiful tale of love sullied by jealousies, greed and anger. The intriguing screenplay as the director alternates between the light-hearted past and the thrilling present keeps you engrossed'.
