Gabbar Is Back
Gabbar is back is a super hit Hindi action-drama film of 2015 Directed by Krish. Sanjay Leela Bhansali produced the film for Vaicom 18 Motion Pictures. The film starring Akshay Kumar and Shruti Hassan in the lead role with Suman Talwar, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sunil Grover in supporting roles. Another oddity of the film is the appearance of the actress Kareena kapoor in a cameo role in this film with Akshay. Gabbar is Back is actually a remake of the 2002 Tamil film ‘Ramanaa’, directed by AR Murugadoss. The film had an earlier remakes in Telugue and Kannada before it appears on the screens of Hindi. The film was a huge success in all these languages and the Hindi version surpassed all the other predecessors of it in other languages, in collection.
Gabbar is back tells the story of a guy who fight incessantly against the dissimilarities in the society. The film starts with a story of kidnapping of 10 highlevel officers from across Maharahstra. The police or the intelligence bureau had no idea on this kidnapping. As they disappeared, they appeared mysteriously the next day except one. The missing one was one of the most corrupted officers of the town and his body was found hanging in a public place. As the police was gropping, they got a CD from a mysterious man ‘Gabbar’ claiming that it is the begining of the mission started targeting on corrupted officers. Aditya (Akshay Kumar) is working as a professor in National College and appears to be more calm and silent, who is indifferent to any happening in the outer world and live in his own world of studies.Once a lawyer Shruti (Shruti Hassan) stoped his way home and urged him to hospitalize a pregnant lady. They find many similarities in their life and an accident occurred to Shruti made their relation tightened. They have developed a strong relation with each other. With the accident of Shruti, Aditya realized that the hospital authorities were exploiting poor people by asking them to undergo unnecessary tests, which costs thousands of rupees. He turned against them with suffient evidence of treating a dead man as alive and charged with so many tests. The younger owner of the hospital who was the son of a notorious contractor Digvijay singh, was killed by a violent mob in the hospital premises. Digvijay Singh, recognanised Aditya as the man whom he had killed five years ago. Sadhuram, who was a driver in the police department had developed some doubts on Gabbar case and he told it to the CBI officer Pahwa (Jaideep Ahlawat). They understood that the National college students have a relation with this kidnapping and all students or officers of National College are uncorrupt. CBI arrested and Questiond the students but from them nothing was out as they expected. But mean time shruthi understood the fact that Gabbar is the same person who is with him by the name Aditya. The story moves to an unexpected climax and whoever is going to sacrifice their life in this battle against corruption is the unanswered question here. For real answeres I request you to watch the film in threatres.
The film received many positive reviews and critics praised the direction, storey and acting part of the film. The film is one of the most collected film of 2015 and still it runs in packed houses. In selecting the stars director Krish is cent percent right and with punching dialogues and stunning actions Akshay Kumar filled the screen, justifying his character. Shriti Hassan also supported him very well and it is the best performance of her in recent times in a Hindi film. The film exposes many social factors and their effects on the society. The suffering poor are more exploited by the business tycoons and for that they feel no guilty conscience. Corruption is everywhere in society and most of the victims are poor innocent peole. Digvijay Singh who appears in the film kills many by adopting corrupt methods in costructing a multistory building. His son is exploiting the patients, who approach their hospital for treatment. Directly or indirectly these things happens in our daily life and we are not free from it. The clarion call for change by Aditya is a repeated and continous call for years and no effective response form the authorities so far. But a grassroot level transformation is the need of the hour but in the present society it faces many challenges from the system itself. I wish to conclude the review with a quote from ‘Koimoi’ as follows : ‘ If you enjoy films which have the good vs evil story with full on action and ‘Dhamakedaar’ dialogues, this is your film’.
