Megastar mammooty appears in this film as a fireman named Vijay. Nyla Usha, Unni Mukundan and Siddique are in supporting roles. The back ground score of the film is composed, arranged and produced by Rahul Raj. Fireman as its name suggests unfolds the thrilling story of some fireman heros and tries to show their life and difficulties or the high risk they face while doing a mission. Vijay is a sincere officer who works in Fire Force department. He has already grabed the name as an efficient officer. Wherever an accident occurs he is there without considering his time and position. The story is centred on an accident taken place in the centre of the city, an oil tanker with full tank LPG in it met with an accident in the middle of a crowded city. The first unit of firemen and many civilians including some important personalities died on the spot. Then Vijay came there and had taken care of the situation. He directed each and every one with some valued instructions and there come problem with evacuating the site. There were many offices near by and including a prison. The situation was very severe and the tanker can explode at any time. He urged to shift the prisoners from the jail to another place but the authorities were reluctant. His assistant (Unni Mukundan) who was like a brother to Vijay, also lose life in the accident. This made him gloomy. But as a humanist he couldn't sit back tying his hand. The film develops to a climax with which the film shows Vijay's one man Show to survive the situation. The Novelty of the concept makes the film interesting. It received many positive reviews and many critics applauded Mammooty's performance in this film. His swiftness in actionscenes with some boblastic dialogues make it interesting and a family entertainer. In short it is a film filled with tension, suspense and till the end it upholds that. The main defect of the film is it actually glorifies the image of the superstar. He is presented as an extra ordinary man having the ability of a superman to countenance any situation. But the film beautifully picturize the life of fireman and the difficulties they face while execute their duty. Even the society doesn't consider them as life savers and ignore their works as worthless. The film captures the chaos and horror amongst the civilians beautifully with good technical perfection. It is a watchable one.
