Ennum Eppozhum

Ennum Eppozhum (Eng: Forever Always) is a super hit Malayalam comedy family entertainer of 2015 directed by renowned Satyan Anthikad. Antony Perumbavoor produced the film under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. It is written by Ranjan promod based on a story by actor Raveendran. The film features Mohanlal, Manju Warrier in lead roles and Innocent, Reenu Mathews, Jacob Gregory, Lena and Renji Panicker in supporting roles. Manju and Lal are acting together after a long gap of 17 years since Kanmadam and Summer in Bethlehem. Ennum Eppozhum tells the story of a reporter of a magazine and his relation with a lady who is a lawyer and the influence she put down on him. Vineeth M Pillai (Mohanlal) is working as a senior reporter in Vanitharatnam magazine. He maintained this because of his mother's influence. He is a man-child in character and takes no responsibility towards his job. He always spend time by making some childish or foolish comics and the new boss wanted to avoid him from the post. For that she entrusted him a new job of interviewing a lady advocate, Deepa (Manju Warrier) who is very conceited in nature. The new boss has given this task to him thinking that it was an impossible task for Vineeth, failing this she can easily drop him from the post. Firstly Vineeth also didn't consider it as serious and he did't get an appointment of her,but as time went on he find some special qualities in Deepa which attracted him more and made him curious to know more about her. Deepa was a divorcee living with her 7 year old daughter. She is working as an advocate in a family court. Besides being an advocate she is active in some social activities and always a fighter for injustice in the society. That made many enemies to her but that didn't discourage her. As he follows her around, a never before connection was emerged with a brave woman and he became more and more interested in his assignment. The twist of the story and the changes in Vineeth's life starts from there and the story develops to an unexpected climax with some interesting flip-flops. It is interesting to watch how a divorcee's life affect a chronic bachelor like Vineeth. The film received generally positive to mixed responses from both critics and audience, but it was not reflected in its collection. The movie was able to attain tremendous theatrical attendance, majority of family audience. It gained fame as a good family entertainer and the casting of Mohanlal with Manju after a long gap of 17 years acted as a hype for this film. Though coming with some gimmicks in the begining, the film gets interesting after that and the second half is filled with suspense and emotional scenes. Mohanlal and manju Warrier acted competitively and played their role to near perfection. Some dialogues were delivered artificial manner and that looks arrogant sometimes. The other actors also payed well and contributed thir part for its success. Unlike other films of Satyan Anthikad this film is a fulltime story dealing with some serious matters and there is no space for comedy in it. The first part comedy is some what moronic and trite. The director has succeeded in entertaining the family audience and fans of Mohanlal and manju Warrier. The character played by Manju Warrier resembles her real life at some spots and it is not quiet customary regading her story. Malayala Manorama rated 3.5/5 and said 'The highlight of the film is its director-actors combo. Ennum Eppozhum is for you, if you belong to that set of people who believe that films should be as light as possible since life is unbearably heavy'.
