Ebar Shabor is a Bengali detective story film of 2015, based on the story written by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay. The film is directed by Arindam sil and produced by Reliance entertainment and Mundus Services. Saswata Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, abir Chatterjee, payal Sarkar, Rahul banerjee etc... are featured in this film. As described early it is an investigation story based on the death of a lady character, Mittali ghosh (Swastika Mukherjee) and thus reveals some shameful truths that are prevalent in the life of a typical high society lady (any person). For Mittali Ghosh all things were went normal to eyes of commen man, until her death. The investigation which was a very tedious task, reveals many many immoral traffics and included a very large number of persons, who were in high status in the society. Shabor Dasgupta (Saswata Chatterjee), an efficient police officer is entrusted to investgate the murder of a high society lady Mitali Ghosh. She was murdered during a party conducted by her for her friends and family. The task was overwhelming for him as he moves on he understood that it becomes more and more complicated because of the number of people inviolved in this case. Each and every one come in this story had a well-built relation directly or indirectly with the victim and each one can be suspected!. Mitali Ghosh was once married to Mithu Mitra (Abir Chatterjee) and the relation not last longer. The marriage ended in a divorce and after that divorce she was very much disappointed. Actually after the divorce she understood, how much she love him, but her ego get in the way of revealing it again to him. On the other hand Mithu who loved Mitali very much were shocked by this incident and find soothe himself with mirali's cousin Joyeeta (Payel Sarkar). Mitali had relation with her childhood friend Samiran, who was a secret admirer of Mitali. Samiran was such a person who had illegal relations with many women in society and most of them were very sureptitious relation. On investigation Shabor understood that there are more mysteries with Mitali and her family. Her father also had some suspicious relations and Mitali herself had destroyed the future of a young man by promising him a pleasant life, later divorced him by no reason. By studying all these factors Shabor was in a dilemma, he understood that the matter is getting worse and difficult to find a solution. But then comes the twist and he got an unexpected evidence from a person whom, but he had assumed as not important. This was more than enough for a police officer like Shabor and he went on the right track. What was the evidence he findout? Who helped him much to find the critical evidence? I won't wipe out you anxiety by telling the whole story and you yourself go with Shabor to find the answer. This film got more positive reviews on release and it gradually became a super hit movie of Bengali film industry in the year 2015. Thus Ebar shabor became the first movie and the first hit of 2015. This is a well crafted, beautifully told story, connecting each and every part in a logical way. It is a crime thriller in one sense as it reveals the secret of a murder, at the same time a socilal satire film, as it reveals the society and its dark side. It is a romantic film as it switches the relation of many romantically. The timely humour in the film gave it another status and a plus point to the film. The actors performed well and each one contributed his own part very well for its success. This is really the director's film and he succeded in maintaining the suspense till the last and thus making it a suspense thriller. I wish to conclude it by quoting a sentence from Times of India and it goes as follows : "Ebar Shabor is the Directors baby- right from the animated opening credits, the sopt-on camera work by DoP shirsha Ray, the unnervingly real chase sequences, the subtle interplay of sadness and homour to the rush of emotions in the last 10 minutes.
