This is the story of a young man, who was very rich once and because of total misunderstanding sells his property and leads a life like a sanyasi. Later he understood his mistakes and by then it was too late for him to mend, he lost his land and girl friend together. Dev Anand kariappa is a aspirant sanyasi. He go for this life to prove his renunciation spirit to the world. For that he sold out all his wealth including his inherited property, a coffee plantation. His mother always quarreled with him over the issue. They had a good wealthy background once and because of their son they suffered a lot and Dev was not fully understood what they say about. But before her death the mother secceeded in convincing him all thigs but it was too late. He lost his mother also. But he decided to regain his lost estate by any means. With that determination he went to his native town and went directly to his estate. There he found his old girl friend Anika (Sugandha Garg), who left him for a severe misunderstanding. Now the Plantation is under her husband, Srinivas (Mohan Kapoor) and there fore she is the new boss. Though very passionate about his coffee plantation, the owner knows nothing about the works and time of doing the works in it. He was in search of a person to look after the palantation for him and exactly at that time he met Dev, who was an expert and appointed him as the supervisor of the plantation with a freedom to manage all things. His concealed love for Anika and desire to regain his property come out again and he move foreward with a strong desire. Can he make out his plan a Success? Will Anika support him understanding his innocence or be with her husband to expel him from the plantation? For climax I request to watch the film. This is an ordinary story told in an extraordinary way. This is a family entertainer in all means culminated with love, tension and disappointment. The psychic heartbreaking scenes with his mother is imposing and can do only by Arjun himself. The chemistry between Arjun and Sugandha is not appealing in the first half but they wipe out all the defects in the second half and performed brilliantly. Some times we feel that such story would never take place in the real world, at the same time we hear such rare stories from our surroundings. The film was premiered at Mumbai Film Festival under the category of 'New Faces of Indian Cinema'. It shows clearly that some misunderstandings may change your life drastically with out any ray of hope to survive. He couldn't do justice to his parents but later repent and regain his lost property. But he had to play some tricks which conveys a bad message to the society. But at the end the debutant director had shown his proficiency to tackle the situation in a successful manner unhurting anybody. A watchable one.
