Chotushkone

Chotushkone is a Bengali Thriller film of 2014. Srijit is the director of the film. In the film Aparna Sen, Goutam Ghosh, Chiranjeet Chakraborty and Paambrata Chatterjee leads the important roles. The story of the film srarts with a gathering of four directors together. They gathered their to realize their new idea of making a film together. They decided to make a film based on their short stories and with only one condition that in each short story they should mension the subject ‘death’ in one way or other. For the subject they appointed a producer and he was very brilliant. Since the four directors were close to eachother for years they find no difficulty to work together because everyone knows the likes and dislikes of another. They were both directors as well as actors. Trina (Aparna sen) were in leading role and joined the team together for their ambition by reminding them to bury their past and go foreward to fulfill this ambitious project. They went to visit the producer, who dwells by a quaint sea-side bunglow. There they discussed their past and some relevations about their future plans. Most surprisingly all the four were united in their opinion and out look. They spend the night near by the bunglow then their car broak down. It was there that each one was hunted by their nemsis. Can they survive the risk? Who was behind all these game? For answers watch the film Chotushkone.

The film received more positive reviews and were a discussion matter among the viewers for a long time. The twisted plot with a very bumpy narrative abd its constant flash backs were really merged with present day. Srijit Mukherjee deserves applause for writing such a story, his brilliant casting for the film exceeds all his other efforts. All the four perfomed extraordinarily good and justified their roles well. Parambrata Chatterjee, who had earlier worked with Mukherjee before, adapts the character Joy well. Even the viewers sympathise with him in certain scenes. When a film starts with a a last note of a dying woman before the death you know the film tone is going to be gruesome. Yet, this film turns down your projections and manages to bring a smile or two during its run time on the big screen. Another praise worthy item is its fabulous music to complement the story. But the film have too much complicated sub-plots and and for a common viewer to connet it properly is a difficult task. But beyond this ‘Chotushkone’ is a bitter- sweet experience which engages you from the first scene. The role of Dipto was made memorable by Chirajeet Chakraborty and the film is remembered for his awesome performance.
