Broken Horses tells the story of two brothes whose father was killed by an assasin in their early ages and were divided to live separately for a long time. A timely intervention of the younger one reunite them forever. Buddy (Chris Marquette) is now a grown up man working as an assistant (killer) of a local gangster, Julius Hench (Vincent D’Onofrio). Hench was a crooked man and he was happy to get Buddy in his gang, because he knows that buddy is physically and mentally strong to overcome any difficult situations. He was an asset to Hench. The ran away brother, Jacob (Anton yelchim), now became a famous concert violinist, who is in love with another young beautiful girl Vittoria (Maria Valverde) and is about to marry her. But Jacob was always regretful thinking of his brother and in order to regain his brother he returned to his home land Texas and build a farm house, decorated it with a large sign reading “Jakey’s Ranch”. But things were not so smooth as he believes. Hench was not ready to abandom Buddy easily and Hench and Jacob came face to face eachother over Buddy. But who will be the winner in the last game is the serious question that erise now. Will Buddy understand the goodwill of his brother and returnes to him is another question. For answers and an unexpected thrilling climax you are requested to watch the film.

The film received mixed response from critics and they were unopposed in point that if the director had changed its direction a little, it would have been a gigantic hit film in Hollywood as well as in bollywood. But the film failed to connect in some crucial points and that disconnection affects its cimax as well. The means to bring back his brother should have been more convincing if Jacob wouldnot have made connections with another gang leader and by connecting to another gang he also becomes a ‘white slave telling morality in public’. But the film gives a universal message of brotherliness and brotherly love. The passionate desire of Jacob to win his brother from the brutal custody of Hench is appreciable. On performance wise Anton yelchin, Chris Marquette and Vincent D’Onofrio deserves special reference and they undoubtedly coveted the hearts of the audience with their super performance. Maria valverde with her stellar innocent look supported Jacob in all his actions and made a flow in the story. It is a watchable film, but go with less expectation and that may satisfy your anticipations.
