Benkipatna

Benkipatna is a 2015 romantic/drama film released in Kannada language. The film is written and directed by T K Dayanad, a debutant in this field. Maasti Jakir Ali Khan is the producer of the film and the film casts Prathap Narayan, Anushree and Arun Sagar in the lead roles.Prakash Belavadi, Jahangir, RangashakaraManju and B Suresh are appearing in supporting roles. The film is said to be based on a real incident in One of the border districts in Karnataka. Benkipatna is the name of the village where the story takes place and it tells the story of that village in which politics, market issues, rivalry and romance are amalgamated beautifully into the silver screen. Scent Hanumanthu is a happy-go-lucky, innocent village young man. He is handsome  enough but a silent one. He is an employee of the local Muncipality and deeply in love with Pani (Anushri) who is very bold and open minded. She react suddenly with situations and that make problems in their life. There are two more characters who are leaders of the market and they contest in an election to the local agricultural market committee. Limba one of the right hand of a local leader is Pani's enemy. The rest of the story deals with the election and the problems faced by Hanumanthu and Pani. The twist of the story starts in the second half and it is interesting to watch. Some unimportant but comical characters appears in the film which add magnetism to the film. The film received many positive reviews and it was a block buster of 2015 in Kannada film industry. The lead characters were actually living their roles and the performance of Anushri both as a lover and a counter actor against the social evils is amazing. Though shy in the beginning Prathap finds a place in the mind of people with his flawless dialogue delivery. The impressive performance of Anushri in this film will surely increase her career graph upward and her position in this field is safe for some more time. The film shows the real happening behind the scenes and common people are their instruments or sevents, who play as they direct. They are innocent and sometimes they believe their leaders blindly and knowing this the leaders are exploiting them. The melodious songs of the film is striking and at the same time pleasing. Some scenes in the market have no relation with reality and it questions our commonsense. The over confidence of Limba on his leader is quite boring sometimes. But in overall analysis the film surpasses all this defects and won the hearts of the viewers with brilliant performance and artful direction.
