Abrid Shine has never been one to cast predictable faces in his films; his last film, Action Hero Biju, had commoners and first timers in most of its roles, leading to some of them becoming famous, in fact. It looks like Abrid is going to repeat the same in his next film Poomaram, a campus story. The film already made news as the director chose Kalidas Jayaram as its hero, marking his debut in Malayalam.
The latest we hear is that Kunchacko Boban and Meera Jasmine will be joining the cast. However, the director is not willing to reveal details about their roles, as it might reveal the story. ‘Both of them have small roles in the film, but the characters are of significance. I can’t say anything more at this point.’ And what about the lead actress in the film? ‘There is no one lead actress. The story is about a group of students and there will be around 30-35 girls. Each one is equally important,’ he says. The shoot of the film is progressing. And how is Kalidas doing in his debut movie? ‘He is doing really well. I’m quite happy about the way the film is progressing,’ he says. Meanwhile reports say that Kunchacko could very well be appearing as himself in the movie. Well, let’s wait and watch!
