Makers recreate Old Delhi from 1950s in Mumbai for last schedule of Salman Khan’s Bharat – details inside
Touted as one of the most anticipated films of 2019, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Bharat is on it’s last schedule. According to reports, the makers are recreated Old Delhi from the 1950s in Mumbai.
Although his last film which was part of a hit franchise did not do well at the box office, Salman Khan is in it for the kill with Bharat. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bharat with its unique concept not just attracted audiences but also went under the scanner for various reasons, one being Priyanka Chopra’s sudden exit. Following this, fans instantly screamed for Katrina Kaif and she was in to fill in the shoes.
While this year might be closing in with a bang from some of our superstars, Katrina has tasted commercial success working with all the leading megastars including Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and now Salman. Set to release on Eid 2019, Bharat is one of the most anticipated films of the year besides Brahmastra. Touted as a patriotic drama, the movie navigates through different eras and we have just found out that the makers will be recreating Delhi from the 1950s in Mumbai itself.
Having completed most part of the Salman-starrer, Ali Abbas will be heading the last schedule in January. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, for the last scenes that have to be shot which seemingly pertains to the climax of the film, there have been different sets built up at Josh Maidan 1 and 2 and even the open ground in Film City in Mumbai.
The sets, which are said to be quite expensive, have been recreated by Acropolis’ Rajnish Hedao over the course of three months. The scenes will have action-packed drama including a crucial dramatic sequence between Katrina and Salman. While the script mentioned Old Delhi in the 1950s, the makers decided to recreate it. During earlier schedule, the makers had recreated Wagah Border in Ludhiana as they could not get permission to shoot at the actual venue due to security reasons.
