Rohit Shetty created a mega buzz around his upcoming project Sooryavanshi when he gave a glimpse of Akshay Kumar as cop in his last release Simmba starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan. Ever since rumours about who will play the female lead in the film have been floating around. But now it has become official. Katrina Kaif will be playing Akshay Kumar’s leading lady in Rohit Shetty’s much awaited Sooryavanshi. She will be seen essaying role of Akshay’s wife in the cop drama. Today, Akshay Kumar welcomed Katrina on board and posted about it on Twitter. Akshay and Katrina are reuniting on the big screen after nine years. They were last seen in Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan and briefly in Bombay Talkies. This pair has given some of the biggest hits including Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Namstey London, Welcome, Singh Is King and more.

Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi belongs to his blockbuster franchise of Singham and Simmba. Ajay Devgn starrer Singham and Singham Returns and Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba have been big hits at the box-office. Now fans are waiting eagerly for this cop drama to unfold on the big screen. Katrina Kaif shared the same picture on her Instagram and shared her excitement.
