Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil to get a Hollywood remake, will the actor be part of it?
Hrithik Roshan‘s Kaabil released in January alongside Shah Rukh Khan‘s widely anticipated Raees and became a hit. Thanks to a good content and a superb acting by Hrithik, the clash with a biggie like that couldn’t become a deterrent for it. And now it will even get a Hollywood remake. Yes, Sanjay Gupta has confirmed to Mid-Day that 20th Century Fox has approached Hrithik for the rights.
Talking to the daily, Gupta said, “It’s true that Fox, through Tomas Jegeus [president, Fox International Productions], has approached Hrithik. Even though the developments are too premature to talk about at this moment, it is an honour for the team. What is also exciting is that Kaabil has been declared the best film of [the first half of] 2017 via an online poll. So, it’s a double win for us.” Gupta is talking about our Best Actor poll results for the first half of 2017 which Hrithik Roshan won with big majority. Coming back to Kaabil’s Hollywood turn, an insider informed the daily, “Before he jetted off to New York, Hrithik was pleasantly surprised to get a call from Tomas, who wanted to buy the remake rights of Kaabil. They feel the film is a pure entertainer and has all the ingredients for a great Hollywood film. Hrithik will discuss the matter with his father when he is back.”
When the daily spoke to Rakesh Roshan, he was even more elated. “The screenplay was hard-hitting, and the drama, gripping. It would make for a wonderful Hollywood adaptation, given that it has all the necessary emotions. It struck gold at the box-office because it was about a visually-impaired lover seeking revenge.”
But now the question is, will Hrithik be part of the Hollywood version as well? We think he should totally give it a thought since he is simply perfect for the role.
