FIVE times Katrina Kaif talked about her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor post their breakup
Ex-couple Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor, who have featured in many films like ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’, ‘Raajneeti’ and ‘Jagga Jasoos’ might have parted ways professionally as well post their ugly breakup. But the couple have now come together for a mobile phone commercial which even features famous rapper Badshah.
While the two never came out in open about their relationship in the past, their impeccable chemistry was the talk of the town for a long time. Well, now it seems like the two have let their past behind and moved on in their respective lives, here are few quotes by Katrina wherein she expressed how she felt of about their relationship after parting ways.
I had to take full responsibility for my part in the equation”
In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, the ‘Bharat’ actress had said, “I had to break before I could proceed to rebuild myself. I had to unravel and feel everything that had happened I had to take full responsibility for my part in the equation, what I could and should have done better and accept that the parts that I was not responsible for were not my problem.” Furthermore, she added, “One thought that helped me when I was at my lowest was something my mom told me, ‘So many girls and women go through the same thing; you feel you are alone, but you are not.’ That thought was very comforting.”
“I probably let a lot of things in the way I was working slide a bit”
In an interview with Neha Dhupia on her talk show, Katrina opened up on her relationship with Ranbir. She said, “There was another phase which came, which was also great and it was a phase where I think I kind of let go a bit and I was consumed and taken over by something else in my life which was not my work. Basically, the relationship that was in my life became my focus and I was happy. I don’t say that regretfully. What I did in that, maybe which in retrospect you learn from is I probably let a lot of things in the way I was working slide a bit.”
“When you get stuck on something, it’s deeply disturbing”
In an interview with Filmfare, the ‘Zero’ actress said, “After my last relationship ended, I was forced to analyse many things about myself and my life and the way I was living it. Whatever was supposed to happen, happened. Everything happens for a reason.” She recalled, “I remember I was getting on a plane to shoot ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ in Thailand. It was January. There was a repetitive thought going on in my head. When you get stuck on something, it’s deeply disturbing. It doesn’t leave you alone. It was bad. It was sad. I wondered how could something trouble you to this level?”
“People now have proof that he is a very trying and testing person”
At a recent press event, Katrina had said she found working with Ranbir to be difficult. “It’s very difficult. People now have proof that he is a very trying and testing person. Ranbir has also gestured to not work on a film together. It will never happen again,” she had said.
“I do go through my own share of pain and angst. But I see no point in holding a grudge”
The mesmerising diva was also quoted saying she would let bygones be bygones in an interview with DNA. She had said, “I will tell you something important. A certain thing is already playing out in a certain manner. My reaction to it makes no difference. I can sit here and feel anger and bitterness. I can make myself unhappy or I can take into consideration that, how miserable I am, makes no difference to anyone else. So, instead, I can lighten my burden and say let me be happy and at peace and what is meant for me, will come my way. I’m not trying to be Ms Goody Two Shoes. I’m not some extra-terrestrial being. I do go through my own share of pain and angst. But I see no point in holding a grudge. Whoever it is, I don’t see the point of holding on to anything unpleasant from the past. I would rather let bygones be bygones. I don’t think anyone is out there to hurt me. People are trying to do the best for you. But, sometimes, in trying to do the best for you, you get hurt. Too bad. However, I would rather have a friend than an enemy.”
