Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan will be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s next film, which is reportedly a sequel to 2009 romantic comedy Love Aaj Kal.

After much hype, buzz, speculation and conjecture, there’s some good news for Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan fans. The two good-looking youngsters are indeed coming together for Imtiaz Ali’s next film. Kartik confirmed the news to a daily. The film will also star Randeep Hooda.

According to a source close to the development, “Kartik, Sara and Randeep Hooda have been doing readings for a while now and the film is ready to go on the floors. Unlike imtiaz’s previous two films- Jab Harry Met Sejal and Tamasha, which were set in foreign locales, this one largely unravels in Punjab and Delhi.”

Kartik confirmed the news and said, “Yes, I am doing Imtiaz Sir next film- he is one of my favourite filmmakers and I have always wanted to work with him. I am glad it’s finally happening.”

The film in question is expected to be a follow-up to Imtiaz Ali’s 2009 romantic comedy-drama Love Aaj Kal. Earlier, there was much speculation that Saif Ali Khan would play the role of the older man, similiar to Rishi Kapoor’s in Love Aaj Kal.However, Saif cleared the air and said that he won’t be a part of it.

More so than anything, fans are excited to see the chemistry between Kartik and Sara. There has been much hype about the two, ever since Sara professed her adoration for him on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan and said that she would like to go on a coffee date with him.

Sara seems to have gotten stepmom Kareena Kapoor Khan’s blessing as well. Karan Johar asked Kareena who Sara Ali Khan was dating. Bebo answered, “Sara’s dating her career.” When KJo brought up Sara’s desire to date Kartik Aaryan, Kareena said, “He’s wonderful. They’ll make a good pair. They’re planning to do a film together. He’s massy, and she’s classy.”

On the show, Kartik had spilled the beans on his equation with Sara.

Talking about the delay in coffee date with Sara, Kartik said, “I am trying to earn more and more money right now. Saif sir said, ‘Does he have money?’ She is a princess. So, you know to ask her out on a date, I would require a certain bank balance.”

Meanwhile, rumours about Kartik and his Pati, Patni Aur Woh co-star Ananya Panday began to do the rounds. However, Kartik has dismissed these rumours.
