The winners for the 49th Kerala State Film Awards were declared today. Headed by screenwriter and director Kumar Shahani, the awards were announced by cultural affairs minister A.K. Balan. On one hand, Jayasurya (Captain, Njan Marykutty) and Soubin Shahir (Sudani from Nigeria) bagged the best actor award, the best actress award went to Nimisha Sajayan for Chola, Oru Kuprasidha Payyan. According to The Week, 104 films were considered for awards this year.

Best Lyrics – Hari Narayanan, Joseph and Theevandi

Best Sound Mixing – Sinoy Jospeh, Carbon

Best Sound Design – Jayadevan C, Carbon

Best Dubbing Artist – Shammy Thilakan, Odiyan
