Siddharth Malhotra, Ekta Kapoor Reunite For A Love Story

The duo had hit bull’s eye over three years ago with Mohit Suri’s action-thriller

After making a smashing debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year in 2012, Sidharth Malhotra impressed everyone with his turn as a hardened criminal, Guru, whose terminally ill wife is murdered by a serial killer in Mohit Suri’s 2014 romantic action-thriller Ek Villain. The fi lm was produced by Ekta Kapoor. Now, Mirror has learnt that after more than three years, Sidharth and Ekta are collaborating again on a yet-untitled fi lm which will be helmed by a debutant.

“It’s a small town love story with edgy characters. As soon as Ekta heard it, she immediately reached out to Sidharth. She believes it’s a great role and a perfect film for them to come together. The film is expected to roll in a couple of months. The makers will begin the reccee soon and zero in on a leading lady,” confirms a source close to the development, pointing out that Sidharth and Ekta’s last film was both critically acclaimed and a commercial success. “The duo hopes to recreate the magic with their reunion.”

The 33-year-old actor who was last seen as Major Jai Bakshi in Neeraj Pandey’s crime thriller Aiyaary, will return to Kashmir in June for the biopic on the late Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra. Titled Kargil: Sher Shah, the Captain’s code name during the war, it will be shot in Ladakh, Chandigarh and the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun.
