Here’s what Sridevi had to say about Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt’s stardom
Sridevi is Bollywood’s iconic figure who shall be deeply missed and while her sudden demise has shocked the nation, reminiscing her memories since yesterday everyone has been looking back at her journey and with a rich filmography with 300 films. And while she has given some amazing performances in Chandni, Ladlaa, Sadma, Khuda Gawaah and some other films, the craze she is fans ever today has what made her stardom immortal.
And in an earlier interview around her last film Mom’s release talking about the stardom she even enjoys today she had said that “I was very confused when Himmatwala did well but Sadma didn’t, and people thought and spoke about the film appreciated the performance, people felt very bad and hurt about the climax. Shekhar Kapur is the best for an actor he can get out the best from an actor, just like Yash Chopra and Bala Mahindra.”
When questioned about stardom that today’s young actresses enjoy, she had said that “All the actresses are very graceful. Many actors are doing well, they have made their mark in the industry whether Deepika, Priyanka, Vidya, Kangana, Anushka, Alia, they are all special. They are all superstars and have achieved a lot. They all do outstanding work.”
Talking about the death of the stardom era today she had said, “Back then media was not very dominant so there was a mystery, but now it is different. Today’s generation wants to know more about actors, so it is fine.”
Sridevi suffered a cardiac arrest on the night of February 24 at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel. She was rushed to the Rashid hospital and was declared dead on arrival. Her mortal remains are expected to arrive in India by today evening and film stars from Bollywood and South are also arriving at Anil Kapoor’s residence to offer their condolences.
