Earlier slated to release on March 2, Sushant Singh Rajput-Jacqueline Fernandez-starrer Drive will now hit theatres on September 7.

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who is already working on two major projects – Chanda Mama Door Ke and Son Chiriya, now has a release date for his film opposite Jacqueline Fernandez. Drive is set to hit theatres on September 7. The film was earlier scheduled to release on March 2.

Co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Fox Star, the film is being directed by Tarun Mansukhani. Sharing the news, Johar tweeted, “The Dharma and Fox Car franchise races to cinema halls on the 7th of September,2018!! #DRIVE starting @itsSSR and @Asli_Jacqueline directed by @Tarunmansukhani Buckle up and get set for the zooming ride!! @apoorvamehta18 @foxstarhindi @DharmaMovies.”

Mansukhani made his directorial debut in 2008 with the film Dostana, starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra. Drive was shot in Israel over past one year and Sushant went on a special diet for his part. Talking about the diet, Sushant’s trainer Yeshu Talari had said, “Keto is a diet high on protein and fat, and devoid of carbs. The reduction in carbs puts the body into a metabolic state, called ketosis. We followed this regimen for a fortnight, and subsequently switched Sushant to a low carb diet. He consumed protein every three hours.”

“That’s a heist film. When you are going to watch the film, you would not know what is going to happen next,” Sushant had revealed about the film.
