Shah Rukh Khan in, Deepika Padukone out of the Ivanka Trump’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit?

Shah Rukh to be a part of GES inauguration.

While Deepika Padukone has pulled out of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) amidst the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed movie Padmavati controversy, Shah Rukh Khan might attend the inaugural ceremony co-hosted by the USA and Indian government, on November 28. It will have US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka and Prime Minister Narendra Modi attend the inauguration. “Shah Rukh Khan is to be present on the inaugural day on November 28. We are awaiting confirmation from him,” revealed a government official to Firstpost. The same report also suggests Shah Rukh may also be part of the cultural events and the grand dinner organised by the Government of India in the Nizam’s dining hall at the Taj Falaknuma Palace Hotel.

One of the major focus areas of the GES is Media and Entertainment. As being home to Hollywood and Bollywood, USA and India respectively, the two nations are the leaders of the entertainment industry. Shah Rukh Khan would make a good orator in the panel discussions, but he will be present only on the inaugural day.

Padukone was supposed to be one of the speakers at a session on ‘Hollywood to Nollywood to Bollywood: The Path to Moviemaking’. The Nigerian film industry is popularly referred as Nollywood. Jayesh Ranjan, principal secretary, IT and Industry, Telangana government told Firstpost, “There is a panel discussion on ‘Hollywood to Nollywood to Bollywood’. Earlier, Deepika Padukone was expected to be in that session, but she has now declined. We are trying (to see) who can replace her.”

Jayesh also added, “Others have also dropped. For example, M S Dhoni was supposed to be in one of the sessions. Now he has declined. People are declining for various reasons. Because Dhoni is declining, we have to now bring in Sania (Mirza), Gopichand.”

Being co-hosted by the US and India, the GES, with the theme ‘Women First, Prosperity for All,’ will bring together 1,500 entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem supporters from around the world for two-and-a-half days of training and mentor.
