Ranbir-Alia’s Superhero Film ‘Brahmastra’ To Be Made On A Budget Of Over Rs 150 Crore
To make sure that Bollywood is able to produce one of the biggest superhero films, Team Karan Johar and Ranbir Kapoor are leaving no stones unturned.
Just a few days ago, the news of their upcoming film got confirmed and the film will also star Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles. And now, a Mid-Day report claims that the Ayan Mukerji-directed venture will showcase Ranbir Kapoor’s character having the superpower of unleashing fire from his palms. This project will also be made on a mega-budget of over Rs 150 crore.
One of the co-producers of the film was quoted in the report saying,
“We aspire to create something homegrown that can match Hollywood standards. We can’t be penny-pinching with the scale. Hollywood has moved from dramas and rom-coms to big scale films, which makes more money eventually. India too is getting there.”
Giving a tough competition to Hollywood’s fantasy films, this film will release in 3D and will focus on a great cinematic experience for the audience.
He added, “We will shoot it the regular way and then convert it into 3D. The visual effects and conversion quality will be superlative. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles, the film has been conceived as a trilogy. However, the team is currently focused on the first installment, which is likely to go on floors early next year. ”
The sources close to the film have clarified that the film’s concept is totally different and in no way is similar to any of the Bollywood superhero films.
