It’s OFFICIAL! Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sonakshi Sinha to be a part of Abhishek Varman’s next
Abhishek Varman‘s next, which has been tentatively been titled as Shiddat, has been a topic of discussion for several months now. Several actors and actresses have been linked to the movie, but after the official announcement of the film today, we can reveal to you the exact cast. Yes, it is confirmed that Varun and Alia will reunite for this one. And while all the ‘Varia’ fans will be rejoicing, let us add that Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt will also be a part of the film. Sridevi too is in talks for this one! Won’t that make a stellar cast?
Karan Johar announced today on Twitter, “Dharma collaborates with Fox Star Studios and Sajid Nadiadwala directed by Abhishek Varman. April 19th, 2019 #GoodFriday.” While KJo revealed it will release on Good Friday in 2019, the filmmaker did not reveal anything about the title (Shiddat) or cast. In fact, he tried to douse down media reports about the cast of the film, when he tweeted, “The FINAL cast of this collaboration will be put out soon along with the title. All rumours of story and other details circulating are FALSE!” However, sources close to the project inform us that Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt have been finalised and the final details are being worked out. The source further adds that Sridevi has been zeroed in as the second lead, as the makers want a senior actress. However, they are still in talks.
Abhishek Varman’s film, which has been tentatively titled as Shiddat, will reportedly feature Varun and Aditya as brothers. Both of them fall for Alia and a love triangle ensues. Sanjay Dutt and Sridevi, on the other hand, would play Varun – Aditya’s parents, while Sonakshi will play a small yet important role opposite Aditya. With the floor going on floors next year, we are quite kicked about this one!
