Finally bollywood is alive and the never ending stream of flops seems to be left behind. In true bollywood ishtyle there were the remakes and the one odd original one. The year started on a high with Rang de Basanti and ended with the super doper hit Dhoom-2.

Let’s start with Rang de Basanti. A movie about few college friends who during the making of a movie understand their country’s history. A movie on a very current topic. Madhavan who is a pilot is killed in a plane crash. When his friends and family protest peacefully, they only get whacked. Then his friends decide to find out who is the root cause for the crash and try to bring down the entire system. The beauty of the movie is that nobody is a star in the film. The story doesn’t revolve around one single character. Each character is so real that you can gel with them so easily. Aamir is such a big star but in the movie he is a Punjabi lad trying to impress the gori mem. Sidharth and gang play their characters so well that it’s impossible to think of any one else who would be better for the role. Soha Ali Khan proved to the world that she is a versatile actor and she doesn’t need her big brothers name to get places.

Aamir made news again very soon by getting married. The wedding was attended by only a set of close friends and family members. You can call it his bride’s luck that no matter what he did this year it all turned out to be good. His next movie Fanaa with Kajol was another hit and both media and fans loved it. His add with coke was convincing that all his fans didn’t let the sales of coke drop. His without the big moustache Titan adds were great and believe me I bought a watch only hoping to see Aamir pick one out for me.
